Personally I think it adds to it. After realizing that I'd not find an elite skill without that being my primary objective (where typically I go through missions, and do quests) I gave up with SoC's all together.

Now, with the changes, I take one with me just incase I find a leader that is of my class. Still not as easy (finding a ranger or monk leader sounds easier then it is for some reason). Most leaders I've encountered are warriors or mesmer's. Might just be the area I'm at.

PS: Had the SoC quest for around 3 weeks and never completed it until they finally made the patch and I had a chance. I don't have enough hours in the day to go hunting for a leader and capturing his skill (that I don't already have, and is of my class, and doesn't die first).

Hmmm - if you have trouble finding the right bosses then this might help you:

http://www.xennon.co.uk/eliteskills/

But I agree with you that the new system encourages players to find elite skills. Before the update elite skills were kind of only available to pple with lots of good in-game friends or well organized guilds - now you can even go out Elite hunting with henchmen, though it'll be still quite hard as mobs are usually heavily guarded.

With the last update, the game reduced grind. Not the challenge. This game was always easy as hell. Anybody who had trouble getting through any of it sucks and needs to go back to Video Games 101. There are 4 challenging places in the game: The Fissure, The Underworld, The Tombs, and GvG. The Ring of Fire Islands are a joke, and Ascension is easy enough with henchmen. Only place you should get caught up is the Thirsty River cause you can't use henchies and everyone there suffers from extreme idiocy ("Hey! I think I'll run right into that base! Hey! I think I'll get the ghost killed! Hey! I think I'll aggro every mob and die instantly!"). If you have any skill whatsoever, you're bored of this game's PvE by now. Or were bored of it several weeks ago when you finished the game with your first character. I've done three, and I'm probably going to tune out and wait for updates before coming back.

Exactly..

Thanks for the link.

I guess my last argument towards the new SoC's is people would tell me how much challenge was "lost" with that update, but then go to those websites, or Prima Guides, or whatnot to find the elite skills. If you tell me "it loses some of the challenge" and then _cheat_ by going to a website that has them listed then your providing me with an contradiction.

Metroid was easy too if you use the game shark :-)

However, I'm more likely to use the new SoC system now, and with your link maybe I can find some elite skills rather then stealing skills I could buy from the skill trader (if presented with unknown skills with a SoC I just _have_ to take one!)

Again, thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Their a close relative of a Tech Monkey, I happen to be a Tech Monkey, same condition apply, except I used to keep major government establishments running. Y' know like the NHS, FFS and Local Government, I rarely got a thank you or a pat on the back, and people nevr look happey when they had to finish their coffee break early becasue I fixed their PC. So now I'm a Publisher, at least I get to see happy faces when people buy my stuff.

They did that just that people could not wait till the later missions, I think every mission after the first infusion run has one infusion sub quest, you have to find them. I have found all of them so far. It's jsut that the fisrt one is the easiest.

Humm I did thirsty River with henchies, the ring of fire is only hard if yu rush through the missions, if you take your time and let your energy recharge and take them on one mob at a time your sorted. Infact I have done most of the mission with henchmen. Once you know how to get through an area it's easy the second time.

I spent 200 hours getting my first character through, I'll probably spend about 50 with my second and even less with my third and 4th. Howevr your attitude and sayong people suck becasue they find a game hard, is a bit off. Their are gamers out there of differing skills and abilities, some are even disabled so willtake more time. So finding a game hard and taking your time does not make you suck. I would ahve to askyou ahve you done all the mission and the bonuses and all the quests for every one of your characters? if all you ahve done is gone through the mission then your mission a big portion of the game.
